My course is about the history of East Asia (China, Japan, and Korea) from a historical perspective. Our analysis of these issues will be structured around several important case studies from the late nineteenth century to the present.
For this assignment, please do the following:
For the second writing assignment, you will write a 2-3 page analysis of a primary source from among the sources assigned for the course (format: double-spaced, 12 point font, Times New Roman, Chicago style). The primary source analysis should answer the following questions:
Who is the author?
Who might be the imagined audience?
What is the author trying to say?
What does this source tell us about the period in which it was written?
How might the author’s perspective be influencing the presentation of this source?
