What are your ideas for how you might design performance management, compensation, and incentives for this new position? Why?

CASE STUDY.
Answer in essay form and not Q&A format with at least TWO peer-reviewed sources & a similarity index score of < 30%.
Chapter 1 – The New Job (pp. 24-25).
After graduating from school, you are fortunate to receive an offer as an assistant manager of a marketing department in a company located in New York City, working for a fast-growing company that provides marketing support for companies. Your department specializes in marketing strategies for the Internet and currently consists of 10 people–you, your direct supervisor (the manager of the department), and eight (8) marketing associates. Your job is to help the manager lead the unit to develop long-term strategies for your unit, to maintain excellent customer service with your clients, and to strive to build future business opportunities. The marketing associates in your department work a very flexible schedule and are often offsite, working with the clients at their location to help develop marketing campaigns to improve their business presence, and performance, via the Internet.
After being on the job a short while, you realize that you really need to create another position to help make sure all the necessary work gets completed on time. Essentially, while you and your manager are focusing on the long-term interests of the department and the associates are working very hard to help the clients, many of the administrative aspects of the work are falling by the wayside. For example, no one is currently tracking accounts payable from clients or handling accounts payable to your service providers. As a result, you are spending time on these tasks that are beyond your job expectations. In addition, you are spending an increasing amount of time making travel arrangements such as booking hotels and arranging transportation for your staff. After you talk with the manager of your unit, she agrees that something needs to change to allow you to devote your time to more of the strategic issues in the unit, and she permits you to create a new position to help out in your department. Your challenge now is to determine what this position will be.
Answer the following questions by applying the concepts learned in Chapter 1. Please post the case study in as one MS Word document. . Also, conduct literature reviews on the subject of discussion and use to support your case study answers:
What job would you create? Why?
What are the key tasks and responsibilities that this new employee would be expected to perform?
What are the employee competencies this position needs to be successful? Why?
What are your ideas for how you might design performance management, compensation, and incentives for this new position? Why?
Are there any particular challenges you would expect to encounter that would make successfully filling this position difficult?
How would you overcome these challenges?

Identify a communications difficulty that occurred when you used an electronic channel (Email or SMS) that you believe would not have occurred had you delivered the message in a face-to-face meeting.

Marketing- Communication
and Managerial Control
Answer these essay
questions:
1.
Identify a
communications difficulty that occurred when you used an electronic channel
(Email or SMS) that you believe would not have occurred had you delivered the
message in a face-to-face meeting. What was there about the use of the
electronic channel that was at the heart of the problem that is not an issue
when talking face-to-face? If you have an opportunity to send the same kind of
message again by an electronic means, what would you do differently, and why?
2.
Firms are becoming ever
more dependent upon electronic communication channels for many reasons,
including: virtual employees, growth of project complexity, the global
marketplace, and the fact that customers can now come from everywhere. Do you
believe that high quality virtual presence (video, audio, shared documents,
etc.) is becoming more important? Explain your answer.
3.
It has been argued that
bureaucratic control systems are a holdover from a time when businesses,
products, technologies, and society itself ran, and changed, at a far slower
pace than it does today. Due to the rapid growth of global competition, the
acceleration of technology change, and the growing interconnectedness of
individuals some believe that bureaucracies should be replaced by more agile
and dynamic mechanisms. For example, statistical process control, one of a
number of tools and methods W. Edwards Deming successfully advocated after
World War II, strived to improve quality and productivity by removing sources
of variation. Detractors assert that business in today’s agile world changes
too quickly for statistical process control to be useful. Attack or defend the
position that the basic ideas of bureaucratic control systems are still
relevant in today’s world, and support your argument.
4.
Some argue that the
traditional role of managers and bureaucratic control systems are in conflict
with the principles and processes of self-management and self-designing teams.
It has been suggested that managers need to change to be more like coaches in
order for such agile teams to be effective. Attack or defend this idea and
support your position.

the target market for MM’s new product

Deliverable Length: 1–2 page memo (excluding cover and reference pages)
Michelle has asked you to send her a memo that explains the target market for MM’s new product. Because a global market is under consideration, she wants you and Elena to meet for an in-depth discussion of the different characteristics of your target market before sending her the information.
Elena meets you for coffee the next morning to explain her reasons for advocating the global market. As you finish your discussion, Elena stops and says,
“We’ve discussed a lot of different market segments to target with the new product, but the choice comes back to you,” says Elena. “What’s your final decision on the target market that we should focus on? Are you going to propose that we try to market this product globally?
You sigh, knowing this is a key decision in your marketing strategy. “I appreciate our discussion today. I’m going to have to do some more research to determine the exact market and if we should go global or not.”
You know Michelle is expecting a detailed description of your targeted market segment including justification for selecting the market. You also need to remember to include your recommendation for or against marketing globally.
What are the demographic characteristics of your target market and why are they important?
Where is your target market located geographically and why is that important?
What psychographic characteristics define your target market? How do these impact your marketing strategy?
What behavioral characteristics are shared by your target market? Why are these important?

Emerson Process Management

Exercise: Emerson Process Management
Emerson Process Management, a global supplier of measurement, analytical, and monitoring instruments and services based in Austin, Texas, had a new data warehouse designed for analyzing customer activity to improve service and marketing. However, the data warehouse was full of inaccurate and redundant data. The data in the warehouse came from numerous transaction processing systems in Europe, Asia, and other locations around the world. The team that designed the warehouse had assumed that sales groups in all these areas would enter customer names and addresses the same way. In fact, companies in different countries were using multiple ways of entering quote, billing, shipping, and other data.
Assess the potential business impact of these data quality problems.
Copy the following questions and respond by writing, at a minimum, one or two well-developed paragraphs for each question. Be sure to cite the text to support your responses by integrating evidence through quotations, paraphrases, or summaries.
1) What decisions have to be made to reach a solution?
2. What steps must be taken?
