examine the issue of Indian Removal during the 1830s by considering the various perspectives.

The purpose of this assignment is to examine the issue of Indian Removal during the 1830s by considering the various perspectives. This will allow you to “think historically” about one of the more dramatic events in our history. For this assignment, you will discuss BOTH perspectives regarding Cherokee Removal.
Required Readings
Read the following sources for this discussion:
For Removal
Andrew Jackson’s Second Inaugural Address
Andrew Jackson’s Letter To the Cherokee Tribe
General John Wool Proclamation to the Cherokee
Against Removal
Address by the Cherokee Nation
Letter from Chief John Ross
Instructions
You will examine the both sides of the debate over Indian Removal by looking at the perspectives of those in favor of Cherokee removal as well as those against it. As you read the 5 primary source documents listed above, identify the major arguments made in each document and then write an essay that is a minimum of 2 pages (there is no maximum limit). You should spend AT LEAST one page discussing each position (one page discussing the perspective of those in favor of removal and one page discussing those against removal). Your answer should reflect the main points from each reading, and ALL readings should be addressed in your essay. When you write your essay, don’t just go reading by reading; rather, see what common themes are found in the readings for both perspectives and write paragraphs based on themes rather than examining each reading individually. This requires more thought, but then your essay won’t read like an extended book report on each document. If you have any questions, just let me know and I’ll be more than happy to help.
Be sure to proof your essay before submitting it as errors in grammar and spelling will lead to a deduction in points. Use quotations when writing the exact wording from the reading, and be sure to cite when using exact wording from a source (ex: Wool, 2). As per the instructions in the syllabus, most of the essay should be in your own words and reflect your own analysis of the readings. This means that your paper should include less than 15% quotes/exact wording from the sources to ensure that most of the paper is in your own words. Do not use any outside sources — your paper should only use the documents assigned for this essay. Using outside sources will result in a “0” for this essay (I want you to be historians by analyzing these documents and not rely on the words of someone else on the internet).
Please re-read the Guidelines for Writing Assignments in the syllabus for expectations regarding essays, including this important point: “Meeting the minimum requirements normally results in a C or low B grade, so expect to go beyond the minimum requirements if you want to score an A or higher B for each writing assignment.”

Write a researched practical proposal offering a solution to a local problem.

Up to this point, you have been writing essays that present logical argumentation using a variety of rhetorical structures. For this assignment, you will need to draw on all of those learned skills to write an informative and convincing proposal. From a practical standpoint, learning to write good, thoroughly researched proposals will probably be one of the most valuable professional skills you develop while in college. Whether you are planning to enter a scientific, scholarly, business, trade, or health-related field, you will undoubtedly be required to find innovative and cost effective ways to address issues that may confront you and your employer. The strength, skill, and enthusiasm with which you attack these problems may have a major impact on the professional growth and monetary success many of you are seeking through higher education.
Please select one of the topics below for your Proposal Research Paper. Please remember that notes and evidence of research for all materials used in the research paper, as well as a working draft, outline, tutor comments, and drafts will be submitted with the final draft. The assignment is to use MLA format as taught in this course and described in your text. You will need to use a minimum of SIX to EIGHT sources for this assignment, and no more than TWO of these may be obtained from the World Wide Web. AT LEAST ONE source must be “physically handled source—in other words a reference book, other book, professional journal, or pamphlet found in print in the library. AT LEAST THREE must come from the databases, and AT LEAST ONE of those must be a scholarly peer reviewed source. COPIES OF ALL SOURCES MUST BE TURNED IN WITH YOUR FINAL DRAFT. You must use Noodletools to complete your Works Cited page. The length for the paper is to be approximately 1000-1200 words (4-5 pages) NOT including your outline or Works Cited page. There is no title page for MLA papers.
Please do some free writing and brain-storming to identify your topic. Assume that your audience is neutral to slightly opposed. Time permitting, you may be asked to discuss your topic briefly with the class and will need to submit your topics to me at that time.
Once you have established a topic, generate as much material as you can from your own knowledge, and create a skeletal organization and outline for your essay. This would be the type of thing you would want to submit as “draft materials.” Once you have an idea of what you think and the best order for presenting it, spend some time doing research in the library and online. Take some time to draft out your essay, gradually adding in bits of researched material at points where you feel the added authority, credibility, evidence will be useful to you. Remember, however, that evidence is not only material from sources. Other explanations such as definitions, analogies, narrative examples, comparisons, classifications, visual elements, and causal relationships can also provide valuable insight into your perception and proposed solution of a problem.
Although it may not be finished yet, submit a working draft copy of your proposal on the due date.
Finally, place the finishing touches on your essay, incorporate any remaining research or visual material, proofread, and verify that you have adhered to MLA style and documentation to the best of your ability.
The final draft of your essay, along with all of the materials noted above, will be due as indicated. NO PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED LATE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Topic to use is below
Write a researched practical proposal offering a solution to a local problem. Your proposal should have three main sections including a description and discussion of the problem, a proposed solution, and a justification. Rebuttal will also be necessary as will cost/benefit analysis. Local problems could include specific tax, law enforcement, education, or community development issues facing the greater Southern Maryland or Chesapeake Bay area. Do not write about tired issues that have been repeated rehashed by news outlets.

how data analytics can be used to create strategies for sustainable organizational success while integrating the organization’s mission with societal values.

This assignment illustrates how data analytics can be used to create strategies for sustainable organizational success while integrating the organization’s mission with societal values. You’ll apply statistical time series modeling techniques to identify patterns and develop time-dependent demand models. You’ll practice organizing and delivering a presentation to senior decision-makers.
Scenario: A city’s administration isn’t driven by the goal of maximizing revenues or profits but instead looks at improving the quality of life of its residents. Many American cities are confronted with high traffic and congestion. Finding parking spaces, whether in the street or a parking lot, can be time consuming and contribute to congestion. Some cities have rolled out data-driven parking space management to reduce congestion and make traffic more fluid.
You’re a data analyst working for a mid-size city that has anticipated significant increments in population and car traffic. The city is evaluating whether it makes sense to invest in infrastructure to count and report the number of parking spaces available at the different parking lots downtown. This data would be collected and processed in real-time, feeding an app that motorists can access to find parking space availability in different parking lots throughout the city.
Instructions: Work with the provided Excel database. This database has the following columns:
LotCode: A unique code that identifies the parking lot
LotCapacity: A number with the respective parking lot capacity
LotOccupancy: A number with the current number of cars in the parking lot
TimeStamp: A day/time combination indicating the moment when occupancy was measured
Day: The day of the week corresponding to the TimeStamp
Insert a new column, OccupancyRate, recording occupancy rate as a percentage with one decimal. For instance, if the current LotOccupancy is 61 and LotCapacity is 577, then the OccupancyRate would be reported as 10.6 (or 10.6%).
Using the OccupancyRate and Day columns, construct box plots for each day of the week. You can use Insert > Insert Statistic Chart >Box and Whisker for this purpose. Is the median occupancy rate approximately the same throughout the week? If not, which days have lower median occupancy rates? Which days have higher median occupancy rates? Is this what you expected?
Using the OccupancyRate and LotCode columns, construct box plots for each parking lot. You can use Insert > Insert Statistic Chart >Box and Whisker for this purpose. Do all parking lots experience approximately equal occupancy rates? Are some parking lots more frequented than others? Is this what you expected?
Select any 2 parking lots. For each one, prepare as scatter plot showing occupancy rate against TimeStamp for the week 11/20/2016 –11/26/2016. Are occupancy rates time dependent? If so, which times seem to experience highest occupancy rates? Is this what you expected?
Presentation:
Create 10 slide presentation with speaker notes and audio. Your audience is the City Council members who are responsible for deciding whether the city invests in resources to set in motion the smart parking space app.
Complete the following in your presentation:
Outline the rationale and goals of the project.
Utilize boxplots showing the occupancy rates for each day of the week. Include your interpretation of results.
Utilize box plots showing the occupancy rates for each parking lot. Include your interpretation of results.
Provide scatter plots showing occupancy rate against time of day of your selected four parking lots. Include your interpretation of results.
Make a recommendation about continuing with the implementation of this project.

Please reflect sufficiently on this quote and then enter your observations on this thread. Then be sure to check the thread periodically to read your fellow classmates entries and dialogue with one another —

Do you have the patience to wait
till your mind settles and the water is clear?
Can you remain unmoving
till the right action arises by itself, naturally?

employment trends

you will write a report about employment trends and how our readings contribute to your understanding of these trends. As this is not a formal essay, you will not be evaluated on the structure of this report. There is no formal thesis or even an introduction. Of course, you do want to communicate clearly and effectively. For example, if you have a lot to write about two different trends in Part 1, you may want to use two paragraphs, one for each trend, so the ideas are presented in a more organized fashion. Use your best judgment in terms of organizing this information. Title each part of your report.
-Part 1 – Employment Trends in General
Examine the list of the occupations with the newest positions (Links to an external site.) anticipated in the next 10 years. What trends – and there are multiple trends – do you notice on this page? Why do you think those trends exist? Provide textual evidence from the reading whenever possible. https://www.bls.gov/ooh/most-new-jobs.htm
-Part 2 – Employment Trends for Me
If you have a planned career, research that career on the OOH site. You can try to find your prospective occupation here (Links to an external site.) or use the search function on the OOH site. If you don’t have a career in mind, use this occupation finder (Links to an external site.) to find a career you may enjoy. Just use the drop-down menus to find a career that meets your needs in terms of education, training, job rate, growth, and pay. Research that career (even if it’s not your actual or final career choice).
Write about business management here is the link
https://www.bls.gov/ooh/business-and-financial/management-analysts.htm
https://www.bls.gov/ooh/occupation-finder.htm
Once you have a job in mind, write about the following:
-Daily expectations of the job (job functions, work environment, etc.)
-Median Pay
-Necessary Training
-Job Outlook
-List a few similar occupations
This part should be fun to research, and this part of the report might not be very long. You can find all the information you need here on the OOH website. This part can be written as a paragraph or you can have a numbered list.
-Part 3 – Agree or Disagree
This is the most important part. Do these predictions about employment trends in general or for your intended (or chosen) career conform to what we learned about capitalism? Was Adam Smith correct about how labor is valued? Provide textual evidence from the reading whenever possible. This is a pretty cerebral question. It’s not as though there is an answer you can underline in the reading. I’m asking you to think about everything in the lecture and the readings to put these projections in perspective.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics is generally regarded as a very reliable source, but I’d like to see why you agree (or disagree) with their predictions, based on what we’ve learned.
-Part 4 – The Future
What would it take for AI to perform this job? That is, what would need to happen or be developed for this job to become obsolete? Do you think, given the current trajectory of technology in our global pandemic, that the changes to technology and AI that are necessary to make this career obsolete could be accomplished in your lifetime? Why or why not? Provide textual evidence from the reading whenever possible. How does this impact your decision (or sense of security) about your prospective career? Has your career choice changed during the pandemic? Why or why not?
-Important:
This is a report, not a traditional essay. The questions posed above are not rhetorical. They are meant to guide you, and I expect you to answer them with the kind of depth and complexity they deserve. “No, a robot can’t be a nurse. No way, man! Nurses need to be human and have compassion!” is not an answer. First, because AI is not a synonym of robots. You have to dig deeper. For example, do nurses need to be compassionate? Are they always compassionate now? Are some nurses never compassionate? Could a nurse be excellent and not be compassionate? If so, can not exhibiting compassion honestly be a disqualifier? And can you be certain that AI cannot develop compassion? Why not?

the tax assessment value assigned to medical office buildings in a city.

Instructions:
****Make sure this is a EXCEL document***
The Excel file for this assignment contains a database with information about the tax assessment value assigned to medical office buildings in a city. The following is a list of the variables in the database:
FloorArea: square feet of floor space
Offices: number of offices in the building
Entrances: number of customer entrances
Age: age of the building (years)
AssessedValue: tax assessment value (thousands of dollars)
Use the data to construct a model that predicts the tax assessment value assigned to medical office buildings with specific characteristics.
Construct a scatter plot in Excel with FloorArea as the independent variable and AssessmentValue as the dependent variable. Insert the bivariate linear regression equation and r^2 in your graph.
Do you observe a linear relationship between the 2 variables?
Use Excel’s Analysis ToolPak to conduct a regression analysis of FloorArea and AssessmentValue. Is FloorArea a significant predictor of AssessmentValue?
Construct a scatter plot in Excel with Age as the independent variable and AssessmentValue as the dependent variable. Insert the bivariate linear regression equation and r^2 in your graph. Do you observe a linear relationship between the 2 variables?
Use Excel’s Analysis ToolPak to conduct a regression analysis of Age and Assessment Value. Is Age a significant predictor of AssessmentValue?
Construct a multiple regression model.
Use Excel’s Analysis ToolPak to conduct a regression analysis with AssessmentValue as the dependent variable and FloorArea, Offices, Entrances, and Age as independent variables. What is the overall fit r^2? What is the adjusted r^2?
Which predictors are considered significant if we work with α=0.05? Which predictors can be eliminated?
What is the final model if we only use FloorArea and Offices as predictors?
Suppose our final model is:
AssessedValue = 115.9 + 0.26 x FloorArea + 78.34 x Offices
What wouldbe the assessed value of a medical office building with a floor area of 3500 sq. ft., 2 offices, that was built 15 years ago? Is this assessed value consistent with what appears in the database?
